Welcome to my website.

I’m an award-winning editor with a passion for creating compelling, community-focused content.

Growing up with two brothers, watching and playing sports were a way of life. I also had a passion for writing, filling book after book with stories about the adventures of a lady bug named Sophie. When it came time to start thinking about a career, one of my teachers suggested I sign up for a journalism class.

I’ve been hooked ever since.

I most recently served as the Editor in Chief of Family Times and the Managing Editor of Northeast Dairy Media. Prior to that, I was an Adjunct Professor at Cazenovia College and The College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University, and the Media Advisor at St. John Fisher University.

Before moving into higher education, I spent three years working in the journalism industry, first as the Assistant Sports Editor at the Oneida Daily Dispatchthen as a Paginator/Copy Editor at the Observer-Dispatch in Utica. I have also written for Inside Lacrosse magazine.

I received my MA in Magazine, Newspaper and Online Journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, and BAs in Media and Communication Studies and Psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. I also studied abroad in Rome, Italy and examined the role that sports play in society.
